	BAR CODE SCANNERS	Records Associates provides a variety of bar coding equipment, each most suitable for a specific task. Each device has been tested and approved for use with the systems we implement and integrate.
	Direct-Connect Laser Scanners	Direct-Connect laser scanners plug directly into the computer workstation through the keyboard port. Bar code scans are sent directly to the screen where the system responds and records the action in real time. We strongly recommend the use of at least one Direct Connect scanner in each file room or place where a high volume of movement of records will occur. A laser scanner provides the fastest, easiest scanning, minimizing the risk of repetitive task injuries.
	Direct-Connect CCD Scanners	Direct Connect CCD scanners plug directly into the computer workstation through the keyboard port. Our 3" CCD scanners offer the bar code reading power of a laser scanner, but at a lower price. Advanced optical design provides high resolution and reliability.
	Portable Scanners	Laser portable scanners provide all the convenience of laser scanning, while a display provides operating instructions for the user. Portable scanners allow bar codes to be scanned anywhere. They are ideal for archiving, desk audits, and scanning folders directly onto bar coded shelves. We recommend the use of at least one portable scanner at installations where a large number of folders are tracked or where boxes are being managed in a records center. The Videx LaserLite PRO is one of the few portable scanners that utilizes a Windows DLL - rather than a DOS interface - and allows a menuing program to be loaded to guide users through processes.
